## General Description
Initial alpha version of Tax Tower Defense! A new tower defense game that challenges players to take on the role of the government, taxing its civilians to protect them from frequent attacks by vicious outsiders. This initial release focuses mainly on the tower defense aspect, featuring the first sets of enemies and towers for building. Future releases will increase control over how citizens are taxed.
## Change Summary
### Tower Changes
- Added **Cannon Tower**: a cheap, sturdy, and short range starter tower that deals with enemies of all sorts.
- Added **Archer Tower**: more expensive and fragile long range tower for dealing with ranged enemies.
- Added **Freeze Tower**: a support tower that slows enemies down without damaging them, making them easier targets for your other towers.
- Added **Mortar Tower**: a very long range, slow tower that lobs powerful bombs that deal AOE damage.
- Added **Bomb Ability**: a cheap and powerful single-use attack that can clear out a horde of enemies
- All towers except freeze towers have a cost for ammo, usually $1, but $2 in the case of mortar towers.
### Enemy Changes
- Added waves of enemies that get increasingly strong
- Added **hordes** of enemies that attack the player en masse
- Added **Basic** enemy (blue) that deals damage using its short range attack
- Added **Melee** enemy (red) that can take a hit or two
- Added **Wizard** enemy that can cast rapid-fire spells from a long range
### Economy Changes
- Added neighborhoods that earn the player money and expand, generating a new neighborhood after saving enough money
- Added tax button that taxes all neighborhoods 10% of their total savings
### Other Game Changes
- Added high score board to record players score (based on what round you survive to)
### UI Improvements
- Added a sidebar with a tabs for towers
- Added drag and drop and snap to grid placement mechanic for towers.
### Graphics Improvements
- Added starting sprites for most towers and enemies
